Landeros and Assad are April Students of the Month

The April Rotary Students of the Month are Perryton High School Seniors, Cassie Landeros and Luis Assad.  Cassie is the daughter of Juan and Viridiana Landeros. Her siblings are Nolan, Mickah, Jordan, John and Carmelo.  Luis is the son of Luis Sr. and Manuela Assad. He has one sister, Sarah.

Cassie is involved in Softball, Track, National Honor Society, UIL Academics and Choir and Show Choir.  Her favorite subjects are AP Language and Literature. She lists Coach Tessa Powell as her greatest influence. “She has pushed me to further myself in all areas of life,” Cassie says.

Her future plans are to attend a four-year college and then pursue medicine with a goal to become a cardiothoracic surgeon.

Luis is involved in Show Choir, Basketball and Track. His favorite subject is math because “it feels like I’m solving a puzzle. With each step of an equation.”  Luis did not list a specific teacher that has influenced him because he says all of the teachers he’s had are “part of my journey in my life in one way or another.”

Luis plans to study biomedical engineering and to make that his full-time occupation.
